Tomorrow is December! Can you believe it??? Only 25 more shopping days till Christmas! It’s the time of year for giving, sharing, caring…seeing Christmas through your children’s eyes, making memories, hot cocoa & family. So, as always there is a LOT going on this time of year, so I’m trying to get most of the activities (the ones I know about or can find on the web, lol) to give you some ideas & options to have a very Merry Christmas season! (all info via Facebook posts I have seen, Google searches or Fun4GatorKids)

December 1st (TOMORROW):  Chiefland Christmas & Winter Festival~10:00 AM – 8:00 PM FREE

Check out the Chiefland Winter Festival where you’ll find Arts & crafts, food, entertainment and DJ by local talent, children’s activities, sport vehicle and classic car displays during the day. A lighted parade down US 19 begins at 6:00pm at Chiefland High School, followed by a lighting ceremony, caroling, and sing alongs.  More Info

December 1st (TOMORROW):  “The Nutcracker”~ 7:30pm at Florida Gateway College. Bring your little ballerina out to enjoy this classic tale (I am!). Tickets still available.  More Info & tickets

Decmeber 1st-24th:  Open Nightly at 6PM :: Sunday – Thursday Adults $6 / Friday and Saturday nights Adults $8 All Nights: Children 4 and older $2 / Children 3 and under are FREE

All New! Over 5 million lights, including 3-D Displays, along a meandering 2 mile trail! Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, craft village, live entertainment & have your photos taken with Santa Claus. Build your families Christmas memories!

December 7th: “Light The Village” 5:00PM – 9:00PM

Children and adults are invited to enjoy the spirit of the holiday season with horse and buggy rides, train rides, live music, carolers, children’s activities and an appearance by Santa at Plantation Hall. Haile Village Center, Gainesville, FL 32608  :: More Info

December 8th: Lake City’s Annual SNOW DAY~ 9am-4pm FREE!!! Snow slide, 10 bounce houses, 30 TONS of snow, live entertainment, Food Vendors & Visit with Santa from noon-2pm. A great way to spend the day before heading to see the parade that night!  More Info

December 8th: Lake City’s Christmas Parade~ 6pm. The normal parade route (my family usually sets up outside the Winn Dixie). Candy, floats, lots of lights & Santa! Bundle up, bring a thermos of hot chocolate & enjoy the show!

December 14-24th, 26th-31st:  Silver Springs, Ocala, FL~ 3:00PM – 8:00PM   $12.99 (plus tax) per person

NEW this season, “Mrs. Claus” “The Snow Toboggan Express” & “Fireworks” !!! Come experience real snow as you ride down the “Snow Toboggan Express”, then visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus (December 14th – 24th), and tell them what you hope to receive this year. Santa arrives every evening by way of Santa’s Silver River Sleigh up until Christmas Eve. He will be meeting with the kids from 5-8pm. Don’t forget your cameras!!!    Next gather around Miss Molly as she tells Holiday stories that are sure to warm any heart during the this festive season. Miss Molly Storytelling times are from 6-6:15pm, 6:25-6:40pm, 6:55-7:05pm, 7:15-7:30pm.

The authentic Dickens Carolers are back and will perform on the Mini Mall from 6:10-6:35pm, 6:45-7:10pm, & 7:20-7:45pm

December 14th-16th: Lake City Holiday Crafts Bazaar & Festival~ 10a on Friday through 5pm on Sunday. Who says “Small Business Saturday” has to only be one day? Head to the craft bazaar for fun & unique gifts while supporting small businesses! FREE entertainment all weekend long, vendor demonstrations & a children’s area complete with bounce houses!  The whole weekend at the Lake City Mall.  Facebook Info

December 15th:  Newberry Festival of Lights~ 12:00PM – 9:00PM  FREE

Santa & Mrs. Claus local entertainment, food and craft vendors, businesses open late & carriage rides around town.  Downtown Newberry, FL   More Info

I’m sure there is SO much more to do & plenty of neighborhoods to stroll through looking at lights. Don’t forget to pop some popcorn & put in your favorite Christmas movie as a family at least one night, write letters to Santa & just enjoy the season!  I will be doing another blog post next week with a craft AND the wonderful “What to Photograph for Christmas” list. 😉 A great list to help you capture all the greatest memories.
